Diaper Language, Diaper Update

I haven't been here in a long time. Wow. Well, since my last post I've been posting to Diaper Pin and am quite happy there. I've also gotten lots of new diapers. :-)

B Bear has lots of Loveybums wool, some Swaddlebees wool, a Disana soaker, and a pair of hand knit longies from Dakota Fluff. We also expanded into prefolds (Tiny Birds, Loveybums, and Under the Nile) which I had turned into Tinkle Traps this week. We have a few fitted diapers (Under the Nile, Baby Beehinds, Loveybums), OH! and Tiny Birds flats which I double but are still super trim especially under a Swaddlebees wool cover.

Gosh, a few weeks ago I would have read this post and thought, "What?" LOL!

I do love the world of cloth diapers. We are saving $1,000 (would have been more if I wasn't so addicted, hehehe)!

Anyway, I guess I will go for now. . .

One Crazy Doctor

My comment:

Wow! That doctor is nuts! If we should avoid pain all our lives, let's just all sign up for morphine accounts and enter his Brave New World, shall we?

I gave birth with no pain medication. It was very spiritual for me and I believe my unborn daughter. I did zen meditation for most of the 20 hours (when I wasn't sleeping in the beginning and pushing at the end). I kept my daughter stress free even though the cord was around her neck.

We had a beautiful, quite, stress free, spiritual birth in a hospital. There was some pain, yes, especially with back labor, but my body was made for this job and my focused mind could see us through it and my husband and my doula were there for physical, emotional and spiritual support. The midwife and nurses in the hospital were so supportive and respectful of our choices. CHOICES being the operative word.

This male doctor has not the physical anatomy or mental capabilities to understand my choice. He will simply never know what a birthing woman is going through, and perhaps because of his inherent ignorance and inability he will seek to belittle the power and choices of the birthing woman. Maybe he does this to make her feel unable, inadequate, and powerless so he can take away her power under the guise of sympathy and simply "knowing what is best" which isn't far from sheer domination and abuse of not just one woman but an entire gender. Will he then seek to have us tried as witches?

Two can play your game, Dr. Sanghavi.

things i am obsessed with this week

1) cloth diapers
i found some great instructional videos here:

http://www.comfybummy.com

but the best diapers i have found are here:

http://www.bluepenguin.biz

they make all of their diapers out of friendly materials in house and about 6 people work there. go to their site and read more. it is worth it!
anyway, i am awaiting the arrival of the diapers. i ordered a couple from Comfy Bummy, but A LOT from Blue Penguin because i am so impressed with them and their designs.

2) harry potter
1 day and 15 hours until it is released!

3) soap recipes
currently planning laundry detergent

4) mei tai baby carriers
even though a certain baby doesn't like it yet, she will learn to because i have to do chores and go for walks sometime soon! yes, she will learn to like it as much as i do. we currently have an Ellaroo, but i want to get an Eden one for winter:
